Tierra de Hombres: unha viaxe cara á vida
A misión da ONG Tierra de Hombres é proporcionar axuda directa aos nenos e nenas máis vulnerables. A súa viaxe privada en Galicia comeza en 2003 e lanzouse grazas ao compromiso de profesionais sanitarios, organizacións sanitarias públicas e privadas e voluntarios.
Hoxe é unha realidade que responde ao dereito á saúde da Infancia que precisa atención médica especializada.
O proxecto de Tierra de Hombres «Viaje hacia la vida» é un proceso que comeza co estudo e selección de casos, nos que se ten en conta a gravidade da enfermidade, a previsión de mellora a curto prazo e as posibilidades dun seguimento axeitado por parte da súa familia ao seu regreso.
O coordinador médico asigna a cada neno e nena en España un equipo de especialistas segundo a súa patoloxía e o hospital colaborador. Durante 2018, 9 nenos e nenas chegaron a Galicia para operarse de enfermidades cardíacas graves e outras patoloxías.
Rafael Besada, delegado de Tierra de Hombres en Galicia, reflexiona sobre que ninguén elixe onde nace. Hai nenos e nenas que teñen patoloxías graves pero curables, nacidos en familias do continente africano con recursos limitados.
En África, a taxa de mortalidade infantil é moi alta e as patoloxías presentadas por estes nenos e nenas non poden ser tratadas nos seus países de orixe porque carecen dunha infraestrutura sanitaria adecuada e de equipos médicos que poidan curalos.
«Viaje hacia la vida» é unha cadea humana que se inicia para dar resposta ás necesidades de saúde da Infancia vulnerable e para garantir o seu dereito á saúde.
A experiencia indica que a corda rompe sempre do lado dos máis débiles. En Tierra de Hombres o saben e por iso traballan para axudar a xente a non morrer.
