A Convención sobre os Dereitos do Neno (CDN) cumpre hoxe 30 anos. Este aniversario é unha oportunidade para deternos a reflexionar e para renovar os compromisos de toda a sociedade coa infancia. Cómpre facelo desde unha posición consciente e comprometida, na que a mirada sobre o ocorrido dende 20 de novembro de 1989 ata hoxe supoña unha aprendizaxe para acadar os obxectivos que aínda non fomos quen de conseguir e que son dereitos irrenunciables.

Unha traxectoria de 30 anos pode parecer relativamente curta para a historia dun país, máis aínda para historia mundial, pero coa mirada dos nenos e nenas é un longo período de tempo, porque sendo unha parte fundamental da vida, a infancia é unha etapa breve.

Como di un dos grandes pensadores en infancia, Francesco Tonucci, na infancia “as cousas máis importantes xa ocorreron”. Os nenos e nenas son ante todo presente e polo tanto non poden, non deben esperar. Na infancia colócanse os cimentos de todo o ciclo vital. Que sentido ten reflexionar moito sobre a xuventude, a idade adulta ou a vellez, se pasamos por alto a situación dos nenos e nenas?

O xerme, a semente do posible atópase na infancia. Se non o temos en conta pasaremos moito tempo do resto do ciclo vital reparando as quebras producidas polas desatencións na primeira etapa. Inasumible desde un enfoque de dereitos humanos, pero tamén inaceptable desde unha perspectiva de eficiencia política, económica e organizativa dunha sociedade responsable e sostible.

A nosa misión, como plataforma que aglutina ás organizacións que traballan directamente coa infancia en situación de maior vulnerabilidade, ten unha prioridade clara de impulsar os dereitos como a ferramenta indispensable para garantir o desenvolvemento pleno dos nenos e nenas.

A nosa é pois unha visión de xustiza social, pero tamén un imperativo dunha organización comprometida coa construción dunha sociedade onde todas as persoas teñan cubertas as súas necesidades desde os primeiros momentos da vida, e co acompañamento e coidado compensador posterior cando sexa necesario.

A Convención supón un consenso claro en torno aos dereitos da infancia, ten rango de lei e obriga aos países que a firman. Sen necesidade de viaxar fora da nosa comunidade, do noso país, temos que recoñecer o avance que se ten producido nestes anos, pero tamén temos que reivindicar o traballo que queda por facer.

Para moitos nenos e nenas a convención non se cumpre: nenos e nenas que están vivindo na pobreza, nenos e nenas que son vítimas da violencia, nenos e nenas abusados, nenos e nenas que viven en contornas precarias, nenos e nenas que teñen itinerarios de crianza adversos que non promoven a seguridade afectiva que necesitan…

Poderíamos sementar este documento de cifras, datos, números, estatísticas e porcentaxes, pero son sobradamente coñecidos e a nosa misión é por rostro, vida e oportunidades a cada dato e restar cada día nenos e nenas desas cifras.

Hoxe é un día idóneo para atraer a mirada de toda a sociedade sobre a infancia e para renovar o compromiso social de todas as entidades que conformamos a Plataforma de Organizacións de Infancia de Galicia cos dereitos dos nenos e nenas.
