A pobreza infantil en España é un problema estrutural
2,4 millóns de nenos, nenas e adolescentes, 1 de cada 3, están en risco de pobreza e / ou exclusión social en España. Por este motivo, EAPN España ea Plataforma de Infancia asinaron un acordo de colaboración para loitar contra a pobreza infantil.
As persoas en risco de pobreza e exclusión social diminuíron, pero aínda están por encima da media da Unión Europea. Son especialmente preocupantes os datos dos nenos, nenas e adolescentes, xa que as taxas de pobreza infantil e de exclusión social que actualmente se sitúan no 31,1%, aínda que diminúen, seguen sendo moi elevadas.
Co obxectivo de traballar xuntos para reducir as cifras de pobreza e exclusión social dos nenos, nenas e adolescentes, Adolfo Lacuesta, presidente da Plataforma Infantil, e Carlos Susías, presidente da Rede Europea para a Loita contra a Pobreza e os A exclusión social no Estado español (EAPN-ES) asinaron en Madrid un acordo marco de colaboración entre as dúas entidades.
O obxectivo do acordo é establecer mecanismos de coordinación e colaboración entre as dúas entidades para xerar espazos de discusión e reflexión, así como realizar accións de sensibilización e incidencia política sobre os efectos da pobreza e / ou a exclusión social en nenos e adolescente, tendo como prioridade os relacionados co dereito á participación infantil e ao traballo entre as entidades membros.
“La pobreza infantil es el principal reto de nuestro país, no sólo por su magnitud, más de 2,4 millones de niños y niñas, 1 de cada 3, en riesgo de pobreza y exclusión social, sino también por el impacto presente y futuro que tiene para estos niños y niñas y para la sociedad en su conjunto. Con este acuerdo queremos formalizar una relación de colaboración que mantenemos desde hace años con la EAPN para luchar contra esta lacra”, explicou Adolfo Lacuesta, presidente da Plataforma de Infancia.
«Cuando hablamos de pobreza en el hogar, la cuestión más lacerante es la pobreza infantil. No vamos a encontrar niños pobres en familias ricas. Necesitamos medidas claras y contundentes para afrontar las consecuencias del empobrecimiento de los niños. La alianza con la Plataforma de Organizaciones de Infancia es especialmente relevante para nosotros como EAPN, puesto que la pobreza no sólo necesita medidas directas para erradicarla, sino complementarias para afrontar las situaciones de pobreza que se presentan en la actualidad», destacou Carlos Susías, presidente de EAPN España.
A Plataforma de Infancia é unha rede de 67 organizacións infantís coa misión de protexer, promover e defender os dereitos dos nenos e adolescentes de acordo coa Convención das Nacións Unidas sobre os Dereitos do Neno. A súa visión é conseguir o cumprimento integral dos dereitos dos nenos, nenas e adolescentes, integrando os esforzos das organizacións infantís e de todos os axentes sociais.
EAPN-ES (Red Europea de Lucha contra la Pobreza y la Exclusión Social en el Estado Español) naceu en 1991 e fundouse en 2004 como unha rede de ONG comprometidas coa inclusión social de persoas que sofren de pobreza e exclusión social. Está composta por 19 EAPN rexionais e 15 entidades a nivel estatal, todas con carácter sen ánimo de lucro e cun compoñente común: a loita contra a pobreza e a exclusión social.
